The Northern Lights become an Aurora Love Spirit combining the yin and yang elements of Raven and Eagle, the two main clans of the Native people of the Northwest Coast.  Everyone in the tribe was either an Eagle or Raven as their main clan and had to marry the opposite clan - when the two are on the same piece of artwork, it is the Love Spirit.
